Zaiq Technologies and Altera Partner to Meet Rising Need for Design Services
WOBURN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2001--
Zaiq Technologies, Inc., the fastest-growing product development
outsourcer for communications infrastructure companies, today
announced a partnership with Altera Corporation (Nasdaq: ALTR), a
leading supplier of programmable logic devices (PLDs), to become a
member of the Altera Certified Design Center (CDC) program. Zaiq
Technologies and Altera will work in tandem to help customers design
and implement complex systems-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC)
applications.
Through the partnership, Altera customers can access Zaiq's
experienced staff of engineers to provide comprehensive system-level
design services including intellectual property (IP) integration,
system definition, software development, programmable logic device
design and board design. Zaiq will utilize its advanced methodologies,
SYLVER(TM) and PREP(TM), along with Altera's development tools,
Quartus® II and MAX+PLUS® II, to provide joint customers with
solutions to complex problems faced with SOPC design.

product solutions, including Excalibur(TM) embedded processor
solutions and MegaCore® IP products. Zaiq's experience will be
directed toward system integration using Altera's Excalibur embedded
processor solutions, IP and customized logic into a single
programmable device.
``With the demand for complex SOPC designs on the rise, the leading
companies seek to utilize the best technologies, methodologies and
tools to meet aggressive product time-to-market and performance
goals,'' said Ray Carlin, president and CEO of Zaiq Technologies.
